is it worth it?
Yes. We celebrated Halloween in Sighișoara, the birthplace of Dracula (Vlad the Impaler). We climbed up the covered staircase to a misty Saxon Cemetery and visited the Vlad Dracul House. Year round you can learn the tales of Sighișoara and dive into Vlad the Impaler’s history through an immersive experience at MYstical Transylvania. Hotel Sighișoara and Sighișoara Citadel held a Halloween party with magicians, a killing of the living dead ritual, and a howl at the moon competition. We met a documentary/filmmaker and a festival promoter from the United Kingdom and heard rumors of a future vampire film festival. Spooky!
The Bran Castle party is held the first Saturday after Halloween in the Royal Park. Various packages were available: a Halloween Special Tour through the castle with visual effects, dinner at Queen Mary’s Tea House, or the (most expensive) ultimate experience special access to the castle with an open bar and appetizers in the Castle Courtyard.
